Description
Slow cooker Mexican shredded chicken is the easiest way to create super flavorful Mexican-style chicken for tacos, enchiladas, wraps, and more. 3 ingredients you just dump in the pot!
Ingredients
- 2 lb chicken breast
- 1 jar (15-16 oz) mild or medium salsa
- 2 Tbsp taco seasoning
Instructions
- Step 1: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Step 2: Sprinkle your choice of taco seasoning on the top of the chicken.
- Step 3: Spread the salsa evenly over the chicken.
- Step 4: Put the lid on the pot and cook until the meat is easy to shred (3-4 hours on high or 7-9 hours on low).
Notes
You can shred the chicken using two forks, meat shredding claws, or a hand mixer right in the crockpot. Do not open the crockpot during cooking. For a creamier version, stir in cream cheese or shredded cheese after shredding and cook for an additional 10 minutes on low.
