Description
This Peach Cobbler is a comforting, classic dessert that combines the sweet, juicy peaches with a soft, biscuit-like topping. The warm, cinnamon-spiced filling pairs perfectly with the golden, slightly crispy topping.
Ingredients
- 6–8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or 4 cups canned peaches, drained)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Make the Topping: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the melted butter, whole milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Assemble the Cobbler: Pour the topping batter evenly over the peach filling and gently spread with a spatula.
- Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling and thickened.
- Serve: Allow the cobbler to cool for about 10 minutes to set before serving warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Perfect for summer gatherings. For a unique twist, add a handful of chopped pecans to the topping or a splash of alcohol-free peach flavoring to the filling. Serve warm for the best experience.
