Description
Hearty Creamette lasagna layered with beef, ricotta, and tomato sauce—perfect for cozy dinners and freezer-friendly meals.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or sausage
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- Pinch of salt and pepper
- 24 oz pasta sauce
- ½ cup water or broth
- 2 cups ricotta or cottage cheese (or blend both)
- 1 beaten egg
- ½ cup grated parmesan
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 9 Creamette lasagna noodles
- Shredded mozzarella cheese (for layers and topping)
Instructions
- Prep the Noodles: Boil Creamette noodles for 10 minutes until al dente. For no-boil noodles, skip this step and layer dry.
- Build the Meat Sauce: Brown ground beef or sausage with garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir in pasta sauce and water or broth. Simmer 10–15 minutes uncovered.
- Mix the Cheese Filling: In a bowl, combine ricotta or cottage cheese, egg, parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Layer the Lasagna: In a 9×13″ dish, layer in order: 1 cup meat sauce, 3 noodles, half cheese mix, more meat sauce, mozzarella. Repeat for 3 layers.
- Enhance Flavor Layers: Start each layer with sauce. Spread cheese to edges. Add herbs or chili flakes if desired.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 10–15 minutes more until bubbly and golden.
- Rest: Let lasagna rest for 10–15 minutes before serving. Top with basil or parsley.
