Description
This easy cheesy ramen recipe transforms instant ramen into a gourmet-level meal in minutes, offering a creamy, savory experience perfect for a busy weeknight dinner or cozy weekend lunch.
Ingredients
- 85 g instant ramen noodles, 1 packet
- 500 ml vegetable broth or water
- 2 slices processed cheese (40–50 g total)
- 15 ml alcohol-free gochujang
- 5 ml alcohol-free soy sauce
- 2.5 ml toasted sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 30 ml neutral vegetable oil
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 5 ml toasted white sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prep Your Ingredients: Thinly slice your garlic cloves and green onions. Have your gochujang, soy sauce, and cheese ready.
- Saute Aromatics: In a small frying pan, heat 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of neutral vegetable oil over medium-low heat. Add the thinly sliced garlic and fry gently, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and crisp. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Set aside.
- Build The Broth: In a small pot, bring 500 ml (2 cups) of vegetable broth or water to a rolling boil over high heat until bubbling vigorously.
- Cook The Noodles: Add the instant ramen noodles to the boiling liquid. Cook according to package directions, typically 2-3 minutes, until tender and slightly separated.
- Create Cheesy Sauce: Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of alcohol-free gochujang and 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of alcohol-free soy sauce until the broth is well combined and has a uniform reddish-orange color. Place the 2 processed cheese slices directly on top of the noodles. Allow them to melt for about 30 seconds, then gently stir to incorporate the cheese into the broth, creating a creamy and slightly thickened consistency.
- Serve And Garnish: Remove the pot from heat immediately. Stir in 2.5 ml (0.5 teaspoon) of toasted sesame oil for a fragrant finish. Ladle your creamy, gochujang-infused cheesy ramen into a deep bowl. Generously sprinkle with the thinly sliced green onions and toasted white sesame seeds. Finally, artfully place a small cluster of the golden crispy garlic in the center. Enjoy immediately!
Notes
For dairy-free, use vegan cheese slices. For higher protein, add a fried egg or crispy tofu cubes at the end. For gluten-free, opt for gluten-free ramen noodles or use tamari instead of soy sauce.
